Dr Henry Massey

Henry joined the Wallace Lab at the start of 2026 as part of the Carbon Loop sustainable manufacturing hub. Following his undergraduate degree at the University of Edinburgh, he joined the Biocleave, an Oxfordshire based start-up developing novel bioprocesses for recombinant protein production using novel Clostridia strains. After 4 years Henry made the difficult transition from Oxford to Cambridge to join Constructive Bio, a spin out from Jason Chin's LMB lab, working on developing bioprocesses for the world's largest synthetic organism, Syn61. Returning to his alma mater, Henry is excited to work on bioprocessing novel feedstocks into next generation materials.

Outwith the lab Henry likes birds, especially kingfishers.
