Dr Connor Trotter
Connor completed his MBiol at Newcastle University in 2020 where he investigated various areas of Engineering Biology, ranging from protein engineering to microbiome manipulation. He then moved to the University of Edinburgh to complete an EASTBIO-funded PhD focussed on identifying and developing novel chemical applications of diverse bacteria housed within a Scottish bacterial culture collection. Connor is now continuing his work in the Wallace lab and currently investigating the production of industrially relevant gases using waste sources from abattoirs and the dairy industry.
In his spare time, Connor loves taking his dog, Escherichia coali (Coal for short) for long walks around the various hills in Edinburgh, pestering his friends into going for brunch, and posting pictures of flowers on his Instagram story.
